Tony Ronzio's Viditorials
LSJ Editor Tony Ronzio continues his series of video editorials. This week's is about the proposed sales tax holiday:
I first came across Ronzio's videos when he posted one that took issue with Senator Collins' 'Cash for Clunkers' proposal. Though I disagreed with his premise, I was floored by what he was doing. These videos bring life to the otherwise staid and stuffy Editorial page, Ronzio comes off as a very likable guy who has thought about what he writes in human terms, and he's bound to start reaching an entirely different audience now that he's added this dimension.
We responded with a video of our own the next day, which was very fun to put together, and I think the dialog provides a very human, very reasoned exploration of the 'Clunkers' issue from both sides. (We even had some fun using Twitter to communicate back and forth about the video.)
Ronzio's work with his videos gave us the opportunity to jump into a new realm of press relations, and it's really exciting to see this kind of dialog occurring in Maine, finally.
Below is Ronzio's 'Clunkers' video, followed by our response from Special Assistant to Senator Collins, Bobby Reynolds:
